The Association of Certified Bookkeepers Inc. (ABN 48 379 719 471) was formed in October 2003 under the Associations Incorporations Act of NSW to represent the interests of professional bookkeepers and to provide accreditation for suitably qualified bookeepers.

The CBK is a Not-For-Profit Association formed to assist bookkeepers in their day to day work and to form links with accounting firms and others who may wish to engage the services of a "Certified Bookkeeper".

Bookkeepers have wanted a Professional Association to represent their special interests and needs with government regulators.  The CBK was formed to do exactly this.

To be the Association of first choice for Bookkeepers and to obtain widespread recognition for the Certified Bookkeeper.

Aims & Objectives of the CBK

• To provide a forum for representation to government and statutory bodies on issues of interest to members.
• To remain receptive and responsive to members needs and interests.
• To conduct seminars and workshops on topics of interest to members.
• To obtain widespread recognition for the CBK in the commerce and accountancy professions.
• To foster, through cooperation, relationships with other professional bodies and kindred professional organisations.
• To provide appropriate education and training either directly through CBK or appropriate tertiary institutions to equip our members with the skills to perform Bookkeeping and BAS services.
